Embrace the Uncomfortable - Your Weekly Boost

All the good stuff is found outside of our comfort zone.

Hey there friend,

I hope you're planning for a great week! I’m back with some more food for thought, some motivation, and perhaps a gentle nudge out of your comfort zone.

In this week's podcast episode, we spoke about embracing discomfort and how that often leads to growth. It's okay to feel uneasy or scared about doing something new. If it's something you've never done before, naturally, it's going to be a little uncomfortable. That's just how it is.

Picture your comfort zone as a circle filled with all the things you know and are familiar with. Now, imagine all the good stuff that lies outside of it. Yes, all the exciting, new, and wonderful experiences are just beyond that line.

Staying in our bubble of comfort can sometimes mean getting stuck in a rut and preventing us from exploring, changing, and growing.

Let's look at two phrases that are a huge deterrent to personal growth - "I know that already" and "That's just the way I am." These are shields we often use to avoid discomfort and change. If you find yourself saying these things, it's time to check yourself!

Being the same person day in and day out means we aren't learning or growing. Let's be different people every day, every week, and let's become more than we were the day before.

Sometimes we get into a comfort rut, especially when considering new ways of generating income or trying out different methods of working from home. I've been there, exploring various side hustles, with some working out and others not so much. But the crucial part is that I stepped out of my comfort zone to try these new things.

It's all about leveraging what you have - your time, skills, and the available tools (like automation and AI). It's about working smarter, not harder. I've been focusing on creating a life that I don't need a vacation from, and maybe you're seeking the same thing.

Visited my daughters in CA for 6 days and made $1000 while on ‘vacation’

To give you an example, I started a side hustle about five months ago. It was something I had never done before, and I won't lie, I was unsure if it would work. But, it paid off, and now it's providing a steady stream of income while allowing me to explore other interests. The key? I pushed through the initial discomfort of doing something new.

If the thought of putting yourself out there scares you, remember, fear is natural. The more you push through it and do something, the easier it becomes. Most of the good things lie outside your comfort zone.

With the technology available today, you can learn anything you want. Don't let your past limit your future, and don't let fear hold you back. If you're looking to replace your 9 to 5 job with something more fulfilling, remember, it's doable.

This week, do something you're afraid of, and let that be your first step toward growth.

Until next time, stay curious, stay brave, and keep growing.

Best,

David
